Depression

It’s natural to feel a range of emotions such as stress, worry and anxiety. However, a constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest which stops you from doing your normal activities may be a sign of depression. The good news is, depression is treatable and the sooner a person who believes they may be suffering from depression seeks support, the sooner they can begin to recover. Research shows that counselling combined with physical exercise and healthy eating and sleeping patterns can dramatically improve wellbeing and reduce the symptoms of depression.

These sessions set out to explore the underlying causes of depression, identify current stresses and supports as well as learn strategies to help regulate your mood and ways to manage stress effectively.

It is important to understand that there is no proven nor singular way that those suffering from depression recover and that the causes, impact and experience is different for everyone. The most important factor is finding the right treatment for you and the right health professional to best meet your needs.
