About Emma McLarty
Emma McLarty has a Bachelor of Counselling from Notre Dame University (Fremantle) and is a current member of the Australian Counselling Association.
Emma’s commitment to her clients is guided by the enduring belief that if we can acknowledge our past, we can make space for the present and move bravely into the future.
Her life skills and professional training ensures her approach is best tailored to suit the individual needs and circumstances of her clients and focuses on helping them to build their own capacity for change via an integrated approach that encompasses personal, psychosocial and spiritual development.
Her lived experience and understanding of the challenges faced by those experiencing conditions such as anxiety and depression and the impact they can have on the individual, their families and their communities has made her an empathetic, solutions driven, practical counsellor focused on helping her clients lead full and satisfying lives.
Emma provides a range of counselling services helping those seeking treatment for anxiety and depression, grief and loss and life transition coaching and support to navigate different life stages.
As a counsellor Emma draws on a style of therapy that focuses the individual on the positive rather than the negative and the importance of validating and acknowledging your thoughts and feelings. She provides her clients with a safe and secure space that goes beyond a particular diagnosis and focuses instead on the individual and assisting them in becoming the key to their own healing and recovery.
Emma’s integrated, down to earth approach recognises how the past can influence present life and behaviours but is a firm believer that with the right guidance and support this can be turned into positive and affirming life behaviours.
